Alison: My name is Alison (known as Ali). Devastated by the
Sisters of Mercy split in 1985 I began to hungrily hunt down other goth
bands. I first saw FoTN in 1988 maybe? They were supporting Gene Loves
Jezebel at Rock City, Nottingham, England. Carl McCoy mumbled into the mic
.."we're Fields of Etherline" - or so I thought and I spent the next week
hunting for records by a band that didn't exist!
However they soon received good reviews in NME and Sounds and I became a
firm fan of theirs. I went to many gigs up and down the country. My most
memorable tour was in May 1989 which started off at London Marquee,
excellent gig. I then went onto Norwich UEA, travelling in a camper van
with my Neph die hard friend Jane and pal Johnny. At Norwich Carl and the
boys were very good to us and chatted as Jane and I were hoping to start a
fanzine up.
We travelled up to Glasgow Barrowlands to see them - where that night I went
running into the hall, tried to jump up on my friend Tam's shoulders,
missed, went crashing to the floor and literally saw stars!
I couldn't stand up, an ambulance was called and I was carted off to Glasgow
Royal Infirmary where I spent the next two months with a broken back and had
small pieces of shattered vertebrae sticking into my spinal cord!
Thankfully I made a near full recovery and can walk (and still dance like a
maniac!)
Whilst I was in hospital The Nephilim sent me an Orchid in a box all done up
with Black Ribbon (which horrified the nursing staff!) and delighted me!
They also sent me a rubber plant - which I still have to this day!
Back to the present.. I am now a single Mum with a little girl aged three,
and I am a young 41!). I really miss the old days and would dearly love to
contact other Neph fans. I still love FoTN, Mission, Sisters, Rosetta
Stone, but also like a lot of todays stuff too.
I am planning on undertaking a Wicca and Herb lore course which is something
I have wanted to do for a very long time. The Nephilim's music was so
intensely powerful and I don't think any of todays bands can match that.

Brenda (Blackhalo)
Names: Brenda, or you can just call me B.
Birthplace: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
Current Residence: Same. (However, I did live in LA/No. Hollywood, CA.
from the summer of 1988 to the fall of 1989. Can't say I miss that
place.)
Birthdate: May 12th, 1966.
First got into The Neph: The day that "MTV's 120 minutes" first aired the
video for "Preacher Man." I was instantly hooked and bought the record the next
day.
Seen them live: Sadly only once, on February 28th, 1988. And yes, I met
Carl! Info about it can be found here (There's a pic of Carl included, as
well as a flyer from the show):

Bobby is a musician and audio engineer living in the woods of
Northern California and have been a fan of the Nephilim since '89. Visit my
temporary site at: http://www.mp3.com/handsuponblackearth.
Daniel the Insane: is an Irish man, native to Dublin. I'm living in
Maynooth with my girlfiend Sheri. I started listening to the Neph in 1990,
but only started really listening to them in '97. Since then I have managed
to build up a nice collection of Neff stuff including videos and some
bootleg records and cds. Other hobbies include roleplaying and wargaming,
and I work as a software tester. Apart from that I dont do anything wild or
exciting, prefering to leave that to other, better prepared people. Oh, and
at weekends, I dress up in armour and hit other people dressed up in armour.
It's fun.
Dragon (a.k.a. Rayvn Navarro/Tantra Witch):
Some of the Music I like: FoTN, Nephilim, Shriekback, Bauhaus, AC/DC, ZZ
Top, Black Crowes, Sisters of Mercy, Doors, Beethoven, Ravel, Stravinsky,
Wagner.
When all the other girls were reading Nancy Drew, I was checking
Greek, Norse and Roman myths out of the library. It's been uphill from
there. Being a long time fan of Decadent literature and art, as well as
interested in comparative religions and languages, and magic/shamanism I
became an instant fan of FoTN back in '87 when I heard DAWNRAZOR for the
first time. Their music codifies many of my beliefs. I am an artist --
digital, painting and drawing. I also like to write about the journey of the
human soul.

Ian
Birthplace: New York
Current Residence: Burning Hot Desert,
Nevada
Birthdate: January 10th, 1978 (Interesting fact - I share a
birthday with George Foreman and Ray Bolger, and just missed Stalin by a day
or two).
Occupation: Trying to finish college after five years of on-off
work, freelance writing, and computer work on the side
First got into The
Neph: About 1995 on the recommendation of a friend of a friend (I grew up
listening to stuff like the Pixies, My Bloody Valentine (and all the
"Shoegazer" stuff) Husker Du/Sugar, Killing Joke, Throwing Muses, Prong,
Sick of It All, etc. Amongst myself and my other "musician friends," nobody
really made any separations or knew what "Goth" was, but I was a bit young
when compared to most with my musical tastes, and still am). Ironically the
Nephilim appealed to my taste for the esoteric (I find the idea of chaos
magick liberating and fascinating) as much as the atmospheric. I got my
hands on Zoon later after borrowing a copy from my friend. It took a week to
get into it, but I treasure it now.
Favourite Bands:Fields(Duh), Killing
Joke, Cocteau Twins, Angelic Upstarts, Frank Zappa, Anything Bob
Mould-related, old Damned, My Bloody Valentine New Model Army, Rose
Chronicles. Faith and the Muse. FaTM is probably the only "newer" goth band
that I even like, anymore. Sigh.
Authors I recommend: Kurt Vonnegut, H.P.
Lovecraft, Robert Anton Wilson
Pet peeves: I'm getting really, really,
really sick of Depeche Mode, the Cure, and Wumpscut.

William O'Donnell relocated from Central New Jersey to somewhere
in the middle of Pennsylvania. He writes stuff, sings, plays bass guitar,
and rides a lot of rollercoasters. That he listens to Fields of the
Nephilim is a given, but he also listens to a lot of other stuff... In the
heavy rotation bin lately: Clan of Xymox, Creaming Jesus, Curve, The Danse
Society, Dead Can Dance, The Faint, Godflesh, His Name Is Alive, Prong,
Stabbing Westward, The Tea Party, and This Mortal Coil, as well as the
soundtrack to Return of the Living Dead, and the compilation The Whip. His
presence on the web can be observed at Neverland, as well as his mp3.com
station 'Demonic
Sonic.'

Aside from listening to FoTN, having an unhealthy interest in computers
and getting RSI from playing too many Xbox games of late, I produce
instrumental music that you can find out more about at
http://www.pathian.co.uk If you're interested in having a listen, then
feel free to pop along and have a look-see.
I've been a fan of FOTN since 1987. My first contact with them was the
single Blue Water, which is what led me on to buy Dawnrazor. Other
bands that I like include: The Mission, The Sisters Of Mercy, Bauhaus,
Corpus Delicti, Rubicon, Sensorium, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Rammstein.
I'm also a big fan of well-done movie scores, particularly if they're
orchestral.
I'm based in Leeds, England and work in the IT industry.

Mark Anthony Quested:
DOB: 22nd November 1976
Lives in: Maidstone, Kent, in England
I first became a Fields of the Nephilim fan in 1991, the year that Carl
McCoy left the band coincidentally enough! I lost interest around the time
of 1996.
My interest in the Nephilim was revived in 1999 when I heard that Carl and
Tony were working on a new album. I was never a fan of Rubicon. And I
originally hated Zoon. However, I am now a huge fan of Zoon, I listen to it
regularly. I do also like the Wright brothers' new band, Last Rites.
I have listened to countless bootlegs of concerts and unreleased material
(sorry Carl and co!).
As a hobby, I compiled a fairly comprehensive discography. Edited
versions can be found on the Sumerland web site itself and also Frank
Wenner's superb web site. I have also been trying to work out the lyrics to
every Carl McCoy-penned song (including unreleased tracks such as Subsanity
and Senseless). I do admit that my efforts are not 100% accurate. Although
I have written to Carl McCoy and Lynn S with the suggestion that they be put
on the official Nephilim web site, and I have offerred typing services!
I live in Kent, England. At the time of typing, I am 5' 11", brown eyes,
very long brown hair, size nine feet and weigh around 9 stone(...ish!). I
have various interests, too many to list. I tend to be a jack of all
trades, but master of none; as I simply never seem to have enough time to
devote my attention to any one thing, these days. Being fairly good at
writing, I hope to write a novel sometime before I die!
Being an agnostic and atheist, I have no interest in religion or concepts
of an after-life.
Other things I like include Pink Floyd, World Wrestling Entertainment
(formerly the WWF), writing, drawing, reading, volunteering, anything weird
or wacky, Nintendo, etc.
Trond: My name is Trond Hjorteland, aka Eblis (don't use that
nickname much though). I am currently living in Oslo, Norway. My daily life
consists of studying astrophysics (cosmology); I'm currently trying to
finish my Cand. Scient. thesis (equiv. to Master) at the University of Oslo.
My "nightime life" mainly consists of running the goth club Gotham Nights, where I'm in charge
of the webpages, the booking of bands, and making of flyers. Otherwise, I am also
very interested in art, especially classical figurative art, and have been
fortunate enough to model for a couple of Norwegian artists; Odd Nerdrum and Natalie Radina Holland. I'm also
running their homepages. My first introduction to the wonderful world of the
Fields of the Nephilim started in 1991, when I got hold of "Elizium". I was
totally mesmerized by their music, and still are, and most probably always
will. Otherwise my musical interest is mainly focused on the goth genre,
with bands like Sisters of Mercy, Merry Thoughts, Faith and the Muse, Dead
Can Dance, Corpus Delicti, Theatre of Tragedy and so on. But, I am also very
much in love with classical music, especially baroque. Getting the picture?
If not, some more info can be found on my little homepage at http://www.gothamnights.com/Trond/.
Beth Winegarner has a web site at http://echoes.devin.com. She began
listening to Fields of the Nephilim in 1989.
